Significance of cloud physics highlighted
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Importance of cloud physics and its insufficiency in Mongolia was discussed during an academic conference held in the building of National Agency of Meteorology and Environment Monitoring on March 23, Thursday.
Themed ‘Studying Clouds’, the conference addressed water resources and wastewater, quality of surface water of Mongolia, satellite observation of cloud, ceilometer device and future prospect for native range through 5 presentations.
“Clouds have been comparatively less studied in Mongolia. Study of the type and characteristics of clouds is crucial in calculating the development stages and transition of a meteorological phenomenon, and balancing regional energy and precipitation”, noted G.Sarangerel, Director of the Information and Research Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Environment in her opening speech.
