Italian Ministry of Culture to support stage performance of ‘Attila’ opera

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In the frameworks of the consultative meeting between the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Mongolia and the Italian Republic, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities Lucia Borgonzoni to discuss partnership in the arts and culture sector.
Deputy Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg suggested further developing the cooperation by enhancing cultural exchange between the two countries as well as organizing joint events. She then expressed her interest in partnership in sectors of cultural heritage restoration and archeology within the frameworks of the intergovernmental programme on cooperation in the educational, cultural and sports sector.
Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities Lucia Borgonzoni expressed her support of the active cooperation in the cultural sector as well as organizing of events for young researchers to share experiences.
The two sides agreed to support cultural events to be organized in the two capital cities for the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Italian Republic. For instance, at the suggestion of the Mongolian Embassy, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities will render support to stage performance of the opera ‘Attila’ by Giuseppe Verdi for the Mongolian audience as well as organize an exhibition on Mongolian history and culture in Italy.
