Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/.With a purpose to improve educational environment of visually impaired children and ensure equal educational opportunities as ordinary people, children of general educational school No:116 have been provided with digital talking book players of Digital Accessible Information System /DAISY-E-PUB/ with the financing of JICA Mongolia on August 31.

At the school, teachers used to prepare Braille textbooks and additional Braille-printed teaching materials for visually impaired children, but now it becomes easier for both teachers and children to receive information they want in a short time and to give assignments to children with the help of this device.

A total of 121 visually impaired children are studying in 19 cabinets of secondary school No: 116, which provides education for visually impaired children nationwide. Head of the Department of Special Needs Education, the Ministry of Education and Science, Ch.Gantsetseg and Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Mongolia Office Tamura Eriko yesterday handed over 160 pieces of talking book players for children and teachers of the school.
