Mongolia at ASEM Labor and Employment Ministers Conference
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian Minister of Labor G.Bayarsaikhan attended the Fifth ASEM Labor and Employment Ministers’ Conference (LEMC5), held in Sofia, Bulgaria, on this December 3-4. Such conferences has been taking place since 2006.
This year’s conference was themed “Towards Sustainable Social Development in Asia and Europe: A joint Vision for Decent Work and Social Protection”, and was concluded with a Sofia Declaration. The LEMC5 attracted over 160 delegates from 41 countries. The participants of the conference considered the possibilities to improve labor market for Asian and European youth, challenges that face them, proper employment and safe working environments, promoting labor and social standards within ASEM framework and the access to social achievements and social welfare.
The Hanoi Ministerial Declaration of 2012 focused on employment and social protection as a key to sustainable and inclusive growth, recommending policies in the sphere of employment, decent work, social protection, corporate social responsibility (CSR), health and safety at work.
