Public service law might be amended
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A.Bakei MP, head of parliamentary Standing committee on State structure, presented draft amendments to Law on Public Service to Speaker Z.Enkhbold on January 21.
The current law regulates that a public servant is obligatory, in case of candidacy to parliamentary election, to submit their resignation letter on quitting his/her current position before January 1 of the year of election, in case of candidacy to a citizens’ khural an aimag or the capital city -- before April 1, and in case of candidacy to a citizens’ khural of a soum or district -- three months prior to the day of election.
The draft document suggests changing the above clause. If approved, the public servants will be free to dismissed from their positions by January 1 of election year without an obligation of submitting their resignation letters.
