Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia Awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor Valor

Ulaanbaatar, May 23, 2025 /MONTSAME/. On May 23, 2025, an Award Ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Mongolian Air Force was held.

Minister of Road and Transport of Mongolia Delgersaikhan Borkhuu opened the Ceremony and delivered a speech. Chief of Staff of the Office of the President Zandanshatar Gombojav conveyed President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa’s message, announcing the Presidential Decree of May 21, 2025, to award the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia the Order of the Red Banner of Labor Valor, and conferred the decoration.

At the Ceremony, participants reviewed the historic path of the Mongolian aviation sector, its achievements and progress, and future goals. Furthermore, state titles, decorations, and medals were awarded to distinguished individuals who made valuable contributions to the country’s development.

The Mongolian Air Force was established in 1925, when a Yu-13 cargo aircraft landed at Konsulyn Denj, in Ulaanbaatar. Mongolia’s accession to the Convention on International Civil Aviation in 1989 enabled cooperation with air-transport providers from the People’s Republic of China, the  Russian Federation, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Thailand, Japan, and other countries.

As of 2024, Mongolia has air service agreements with 48 countries, has opened 11 new flight routes, and operates flights to more than 60 cities in 22 countries worldwide.
