Governor-General of Australia and First Gentleman Plant Trees at Ikh Tenger Complex

Ulaanbaatar, August 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and First Lady Bolortsetseg Luvsandorj, together with Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia Samantha Mostyn and First Gentleman Simeon Beckett, planted a commemorative tree at the “Ikh Tenger” Complex on September 7, 2025, to symbolise the friendship and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries.


At the invitation of President Khurelsukh, Governor-General Samantha Mostyn is paying a state visit to Mongolia. During their official talks, the Heads of State expressed their determination to jointly address global challenges such as climate change, desertification, land degradation, food security, and safety. Within this framework, the sides agreed to cooperate under the “Billions of Trees” national movement of Mongolia with Australia, known as the “Green Continent,” by promoting technology transfer, capacity building, and training of specialists.


In addition, the distinguished guests attended a cultural programme showcasing Mongolia’s traditional Naadam sports such as wrestling, archery, and knucklebone shooting, along with performances of Mongolian music and dance.
