Gan-Orkhon Wins Gold at Asian Heyball Championship

Ulaanbaatar, October 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 2025 Asian Heyball Championships for adults were held in Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, from October 4 to 7, 2025.


Four Mongolian athletes participated in the competition, with Gan-Orkhon Ganbat claiming the gold medal in the women’s division. The national flag was raised, and the anthem was played in her honor. She became the first Mongolian woman to win a gold medal at the Asian Heyball Championship.


A total of 29 top athletes from nine countries competed in the women’s division. In the final match, Gan-Orkhon defeated the Kingdom of Thailand’s snooker player Waratthanun Sukritthanes, marking one of the tournament’s most notable highlights.


Previously, Mongolian athlete Temuujin Enkhbold won gold in the men’s division at the Asian Heyball Championships 2024.
