Germany’s President visits the main monastery and GMIT

On the sidelines of his state visit to Mongolia, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr Joachim Gauck visited Thursday Gandan Tegchilen temple which  is the largest and most significant monastery in Mongolia.

Hamba Lama of Gandantegchilen Monastery D.Choijamts has paid courtesy call on President of Germany. Then Mr Gauck lit a candle to the Janraisag.   
After that, Germany’s President has attended German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology /GMIT/. The Institute aims to transfer international expertise and cutting-edge standards to Mongolia in support of sustainable economic growth. In September 2013, the Institute welcomed its first 40 students, who enrolled in a one-year preparatory study programme in engineering. Since September 2014, three bachelor programmes have also been available in the subjects of mineral resources engineering, mechanical engineering and environmental engineering.
