Elections for provincial councils to be held on Wednesday
October 19 is the polling day for provincial council elections. Polling stations are open from 07.00 am to 10.00 pm. There are six political parties and one coalition taking part in the upcoming elections for Citizens' Representatives' Khurals of Soums and six political parties –in elections for Citizens' Representatives' Khurals of Districts of Ulaanbaatar.
MIAT-Mongolian Airlinesbans Samsung Galaxy Note 7     
Using Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 smartphone is prohibited on all MIAT Airplanes.
The statement released by the airlines said the ban is due to concerns over potential fire risk from the device’s battery after a number of incidents worldwide.
International boxing tournament starts in Ulaanbaatar
The 26th “Chinggis Khaan Cup 2016” international boxing tournament  started today in Ulaanbaatar.
The  tournament brought together the athletes from Russia, China, Germany, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Nigeria. After three days the winners will be announced.
