“Drop of Blood - Full of Life” Campaign Saves 10 thousand lives

/MONTSAME/. Mongolian National University of
Medical Science (MNUMS) launched the 2nd phase of the “Drop of Blood- Full of
Life” Campaign on April 20.
MNUMS
has been implementing the “Student Development” program intending to nurture
students’ academic and social development and inculcate good moral values since
the academic year 2021-2022. As part of this program, the MNUMS initiated and
organized the “Drop of Blood- Full of Life” Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign,
in cooperation with the National Center for Transfusion Medicine last year.
Outcomes
of the 1st phase of the Campaign, in which more than 3800 students
and professors of universities were engaged, hit a record high in collecting
1067 liters of blood, which is enough to save 10 thousand people’s lives, and
increasing the blood bank by two-fold.
The scope of the Movement has broadened for this 2nd phase, involving 18 public and private universities. As of the 12th day of the Movement, which started at Etugen University, 1128 units of blood have been already collected.
