Ulaanbaatar, March 27, 2025 /MONTSAME/. On March 25, 2025, Member of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia and Head of the Mongolia-Slovenia Parliamentary Friendship Group Tuvshin Banzragch held a virtual meeting with Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and Head of the Slovenia-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group Suzana Lep Simenko.

At the meeting, Head of the Mongolia-Slovenia Parliamentary Group Tuvshin Banzragch emphasized that with the expansion of the State Great Khural of Mongolia to 126 members in accordance with the country’s Constitution, the new parliamentary composition is well-positioned to foster long-term, stable relations between Mongolia and Slovenia. MP Tuvshin expressed confidence that this increased legislative capacity would enable more proactive engagement in bilateral cooperation.

Head of the Slovenia-Mongolia Parliamentary Group Suzana Lep Simenko highlighted the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which was commemorated in 2023, as well as the official visit of Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs to Slovenia and the State Visit of President of the Republic of Slovenia Natasa Pirc Musar to Mongolia in 2024. Ms. Suzana Lep Simenko noted the deepening relations between the two countries and provided an update on Slovenia’s upcoming National Assembly election, which will take place next year.

The heads of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups exchanged views on strengthening economic and legal cooperation and discussed potential partnerships in agriculture, crop production, tourism, and forestry. The two sides agreed to further elaborate on these topics in subsequent meetings, which will involve relevant Standing Committees and ministries to ensure practical and result-oriented discussions.

The meeting was also attended by Members of the Parliament of Mongolia and members of the Mongolia-Slovenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Soronzonbold Lkhagvasuren and Ochirbat Ganbat, as well as Secretary of the Slovenia-Mongolia Parliamentary Friendship Group Samo Novak.
