Ulaanbaatar April 29, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Mongolia celebrates April 28th of each year as the “Mongolian Generals' Day,” paying respects to its Generals. Commemorating the historical 81st anniversary of establishing the rank of General of the Mongolian Army, Chairman of the State Great Khural Amarbayasgalan Dashzegve received Generals of Mongolia at the Ceremonial Hall of the State Palace, where the State Nine White Banners reside.

Chairman Amarbayasgalan remarked, “Dear Generals, you are the leaders of today, the pride, honor, strength, living history, and embodiment of the exemplary deeds of the Mongolian Army, Armed Forces, and Law Enforcement agencies. I am truly proud of the path, experience, bravery, and patriotic dedication of the Generals who have chosen to weather the difficult and challenging road, all for the independence of our Motherland and its prosperity during peacetime. I would like to pay my deepest respects.”

The Chairman of the State Great Khural stated, “There are 33 generals holding senior leadership positions in special government services. Those who bear the highest military rank exemplify not only outstanding personal qualities but also the virtues of true public servants and role models. That is why the State and Government hold generals in the highest regard, the military salutes them with deep respect, and the people look up to them with pride. On behalf of the State Great Khural and myself, I express heartfelt gratitude to you and your families and wish you continued success and well-being.”

On April 28, 1944, under Resolution No. 52 of the Council of Ministers of the Mongolian People’s Republic, the rank of General was conferred for the first time upon 11 individuals who had served the State and military. Since Mongolia established and began awarding this prestigious rank 81 years ago, a total of 230 military officers have been granted the title of General. Currently, 129 Generals are retired, in reserve, or in active service.
