Mongolian Men’s Table Tennis Team Qualifies for 2026 World Championships

Ulaanbaatar, October 14, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The 28th Asian Table Tennis Team Championships for adults is currently taking place in Bhubaneswar, the Republic of India.


Representing Mongolia are M. Temuulen, M. Manlaijargal, and A. Bilguun in the men’s category, and B. Bolor-Erdene, O. Baljinnyam, and B. Egshiglen in the women’s category. In the men’s Group B matches, Mongolia defeated the Maldives 3-1 but lost to Iran 0-3. The women’s team lost to Sri Lanka and Thailand 3-0. According to the tournament rules, the top 16 teams at the Asian Table Tennis Team Championships will qualify for the 2026 World Championships.


Our men’s team will face Malaysia, and the women’s team will play against Nepal to determine their final standings. Mongolia’s men’s team has secured qualification for the World Championships, while the women’s team will earn their ticket to London if they defeat Nepal in their upcoming match.


It is noteworthy that the World Table Tennis Championships were first held in London, the United Kingdom, in 1926. The 2026 tournament will return to London, coinciding with the centennial anniversary of the event.
