Uchral Nyam-Osor Elected Chairman of MPP

/MONTSAME/. At the opening session of the 31st
Congress of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP), Member of Parliament, First
Deputy Prime Minister, and
Minister of Economy and Development, Uchral Nyam-Osor, was
elected as the party’s new Chair.
For the MPP chairmanship, MP, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Economy and Development, Uchral Nyam-Osor, was nominated by the Executive Council, while party member and President of the Mongolian National Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), Lkhagvajav Tur-Od, was
nominated by the floor.
The party chair election was conducted by secret ballot. According to the
results announced by the head of the vote-counting commission, MP and Minister
of Urban Development, Construction and Housing, Bat-Amgalan Enkhtaivan,
a total of 2,086 delegates cast ballots, of which 2,079 were valid and seven were
invalid. Candidate Uchral won with 94.95 percent of the vote, receiving 1,974
votes, while candidate Lkhagvajav received 105 votes, or 5.05 percent.
Under the theme “Unity-Solution-Development,” the 31st Congress elected Uchral Nyam-Osor as Chair of the MPP. The party’s seal of office was formally presented to him with congratulations by former MPP Chair and 32nd and 33rd Prime Minister of Mongolia, Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai; former Speaker of Parliament and MP Amarbaysgalan Dashzegve; MPP Secretary-General Sodbaatar Yangug; Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav; Deputy Speaker Bat-Erdene Jadamba; and the session chair, MPP Caucus Leader in Parliament, Batjargal Jigjid.
