International Festival- Competition of Morinkhuur approaching

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Sixth Morinkhuur International Festival-Competition will take place in Ulaanbaatar between June 30 and July 5.
This year’s Morinkhuur festival and competition will be co-organized by Department of Culture and Arts of the Capital city and the World Morin Khuur Association.
Events such as competition for amateur and professional Morinkhuur players, concert of foreign participants, meeting and discussion, and exhibition will be organized during the festival.
In the frames of the implementation of the Presidential Decree No.17 issued in 2002, the World Morin Khuur Association was established in 2008 and organized variety of Morin Khuur events, one of which is a biennial event ‘International Festival – Competition of Morinkhuur’.
In the scope of the event, festival and symposium was organized in 2008, 2012 and 2016 while the festival- competition of Morinkhuur was organized in 2010 and 2014 with participation of over 600 parmorinkhuur learners, teachers, researchers, Morinkhuur craftsmen, bands and ensemble from Russian Federation, People’s Republic of China, Japan, the United States, Republic of Korea, Federal Republic of Germany and Republic of France.
