Asian and European MPs to assemble here this week
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the margin of the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting Summit, the ninth meeting of the Asia-Europe Parliament Partnership (ASEP9) is to run here this April 21-23. The national working group in charge of organizing and preparing for ASEP9 held its final meeting on Monday.
A leader of the group and the head of Parliament Secretariat B.Boldbaatar informed the gathered that three heads of legislatures (India, Italy and Thailand), 11 vice speakers (Australia, Italy, Indonesia, Finland, Hungary, Poland, Vietnam and Spain) are attending the ASEP9, among the 152 registered guests from 32 countries, so far.
Invitees from 14 countries have notified “no-show”, while Brunei, Malaysia and Greece have not responded yet.
The opening ceremony will be attended by the Chairman of the State Great Khural (parliament) of Mongolia Z.Enkhbold, his three Vice chairmen, and five international guest-observers.
