25th anniversary of UNICEF Mongolia marked

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 17, a meeting on the occasion 70th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the 25th anniversary of the foundation of UNICEF representative office in Mongolia took place in Ulaanbaatar. 
 
The meeting was opened by Deputy Health Minister L.Byambasuren. In her speech, she underlined that the Ministry of Health of Mongolia has been collaborating closely with the UNICEF until today and UNICEF has made a great deal of contribution to the health sector of Mongolia.

"For instance, as a result of long-term and multilateral cooperation on maternal and child health, reproductive health, immunization, Mongolia had achieved Millenium Development Goals and its population has already reached 3 million and healthy and public safe living conditions are ensured.

Also, she noted that the Ministry of Health is working together with UNICEF to implement Government’s actions to toward better infant health care, especially of targeted group and food safety, sustainable water supply and improved sanitation facilities. 
 
Moreover, the Deputy Health Minister briefly informed about works to be done for the next 5 years with the UNICEF in various ranges, such as maternal and child health and nutrition, teenagers' health, sexually transmitted infections, reproductive health, immunization, water supply, sanitation, hygiene and air pollution.
