MIAT engineers and technicians to reassemble aircraft

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Engineers and technicians of MIAT company, Mongolian national flag carrier started to reassemble TBC-2MC type general purpose aircraft, utilizing Russian made AN-2 type aircraft parts and engine. By far, under the Russian specialists’ advice, two aircrafts have been dismantled and reassembled in the Aircraft maintenance department of MIAT company.
 
This work is being done with support of the Government and the Ministry of Road and Transport Development in order to implement policy to develop general purpose air transportation in Mongolia. Reassembling general purpose aircraft at home will save expenses, and is important in improving the capacity of engineers and technicians.
 
Minister of Road and Transport Development D.Ganbat visited Aircraft maintenance department of MIAT and noted that the assembled TBC-2MC type aircrafts, done by reforming AN-2 type, will be used in agriculture, firefighting, emergency operations and health aid and services. “-Our Ministry will give further support its realization with policy measures” the Minister underlined.


 
Since its commencing of technical and maintenance services on own aircrafts in 2006 with conformity with the European Civil Aviation Regulations, the Aircraft Maintenance Department of MIAT now gives technical services to different types of aircrafts including  SAAB340, Fokker-50, ATR-72, Boeing 737, Boeing 767 owned by civil aviation companies of Russia, Turkey, Thailand and Korea.
 
As of the first half of 2017, the Aircraft Maintenance Department performed technical services on 11 B737NG type aircrafts of South Korea's "EastarJet", "T'Way" "Jeju Air" aircompanies as well as aircrafts of "UT Air" and Alrosa of Russia.
