National Sports Stadium Now Open for Winter Use

Ulaanbaatar, December 26, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The opening ceremony of the Store Pay Winter Land project was held on December 25, 2025, to enable citizens to spend their leisure time healthily and productively during winter.
According to the Governor’s Office of the Capital City of Ulaanbaatar, the Capital city’s largest outdoor ice-skating rink has been established, alongside a snow hill and sledding zone for children, comfortable rest areas for citizens, hot beverages, service points, and a fully illuminated leisure space, all developed as an integrated complex.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of the “National Sports
Stadium” company, D. Lkhagvadulam, said that the National Sports Stadium should
serve not only as a venue for major events, but also as a space closely
connected to citizens’ daily lives and usable year-round. She noted that,
through the initiative of the staff and with private sector support, the project
has been implemented to create opportunities for citizens to use both indoor
and outdoor facilities actively and openly during winter. She added
that at a time when schoolchildren are on holiday and screen use is increasing,
this development will have a positive impact by encouraging children and youth
to be physically active and to spend their free time healthily.
The project aims to support a healthy and active lifestyle for children and youth, create a positive environment that reduces excessive screen dependence, expand opportunities for families to relax and spend quality leisure time in the city center, and serve as an important part of the policy to develop the National Sports Stadium as a public space usable throughout all seasons.
Activities under the project will continue until March 10, 2026.
