Request Put Forth to Increase Number of Students Involved in Chevening Scholarship

May 10, 2023 /MONTSAME/. On the sideline of the Education World
Forum-2023, Minister of Education and Science L. Enkh-Amgalan met
Andrew Mitchell, the MP and Minister of State at the Foreign Office (Minister
for Development), and Gillian Keegan, the Secretary of State for Education of
the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
At the onset of the meeting, the parties
exchanged congratulations on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of
diplomatic relations between the two countries and exchanged views on
cooperation in the education sector, with a particular focus on increasing the
number of students to be involved in the Chevening scholarship.
Chevening scholarship has been open for
Mongolian students since 1993. Every year, up to 10 students receive the
Chevening scholarship from Mongolia. As of today, about 200 Mongolian students
have studied in the UK with this scholarship.
