Ulaanbaatar, March 26, 2025 /MONTSAME/. A study has been conducted on the job overlaps among the Ministry of Education of Mongolia, the General Authority for Education, the Education Evaluation Center, and the Mongolian National Institute for Educational Research.
On March 26, 2025, Minister of Education Naranbayar Purevsuren presented the findings of this study. During the presentation, the Minister said, “In collaboration with the National Committee on State Productivity, we have analyzed the functional overlaps among the four key institutions responsible for the management and administration of the education sector. Currently, these four institutions employ a total of 361 staff members, of whom 81 have overlapping job functions. The study has concluded that an efficiency measure can be implemented, affecting 8 percent of the workforce. In financial terms, this could result in approximately MNT 900 million in annual salary cost savings.”
The Minister of Education further noted, “Additionally, 73 employees will be reassigned to different positions. This arrangement will involve transferring staff to local Education Departments and various research institutes. Following these changes, a functional review will be conducted for the General Authority for Education, the Department of Education of the Capital City of Mongolia, and relevant local organizations.”
