Mongolian Kettlebell Lifters Win 12 Medals at World Championship

Ulaanbaatar, November 18, 2025 /MONTSAME/. At the 2025 IUKL World Kettlebell Lifting Championship held in Haining, China, Mongolian athletes won six gold, four silver, and two bronze medals.

 

More than 800 athletes from 22 countries competed in the event. Mongolia was represented by nine athletes, who are scheduled to return home with a total of 12 medals. In the 68 kg category, International Master of Sport E. Budjav won three gold medals in the snatch, the long cycle, and the overall total. With this victory, he has now earned his 10th world championship gold medal.

 

A student in his fifth year at the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense Military Academy in Kostroma, Russia, he also received his international referee certificate during the championship, becoming the 47th international-level judge in the world and the first ever from Mongolia in kettlebell sport.

 

In addition, in the women’s 68 kg category, B. Undrakh won two gold medals, M. Mungunsaran won a gold and a silver, while in the men’s categories, S. Munkh-Erdene took a silver and a bronze in 68 kg, Ts. Javhlantugs won silver in 78 kg, and G. Erdenegerel secured a silver and bronze in 73 kg.
