Coal ash being used in land rehabilitation as a filling substance
A model rehabilitation work has been conducted on one hectares of land, which has been destroyed due to artisanal mining activities in the territory of the 3rd khoroo of Nalaikh district, as using 180 m cubic ash discharged from “Amgalan” thermal power plant as a filling substance.
2000 trees and shrubs planted on the National Tree Planting Day

Online Fellowship Program on Mine Hazard Reclamation takes place
The first Online Fellowship Program on Mine Hazard Reclamation was organized by the Environment Research Center over the course of 45 days, with support from the Mine Reclamation Corporation (MIRECO) of the Republic of Korea. Ulaanbaatar Railways to use only refined coal for heating passenger train cars
‘Ulaanbaatar Railways’ JSC has made the decision to use refined coal as fuel for all of the passenger train journeys for this year. As of today, Ulaanbaatar Railways offer passenger transport services in international and domestic routes with 282 passenger train cars.

The newly-established Khomyn Tal National Park in Zavkhan aimag is progressing towards upgrading conservation of the 100+ Przewaski’s horses and their habitat. Khomyn Talyn Takhi (KTT) non-governmental organization is working on developing the National Park Management Plan – the key document to demonstrate the NGO’s sufficient competence to fulfill the duties of a Special Protected Area Administration on behalf of the Government of Mongolia.
