Performance Monitoring Unit of Ulaanbaatar City Holds its 9th Meeting

Ulaanbaatar, April 15, 2025 /MONTSAME/ The Performance Monitoring Unit under the Prime Minister of Mongolia held its 9th meeting on April 12, 2025.


At the meeting, members of the Performance Monitoring Unit (PMU) discussed several issues, including the report of the National Committee for Air Pollution Reduction, traffic related to the transportation of secondary school students, progress of the Energy, Heat, and Supply Project, and investments in infrastructure and social facilities of Hunnu City.


The National Committee on Reducing Air Pollution started work on improving the legal environment for reducing air pollution and eliminating the use of raw coal by more than 2,300 enterprises.

 

The Government has declared 2026 as the Year of Education. Improving the quality and accessibility of education and reducing the overload on education institutions and teachers will be important parts of the year. It is believed that the establishment of kindergartens and schools in large residential areas will have a crucial impact on reducing traffic load on the city's roads. It is estimated that 54.7 percent of traffic congestion in Ulaanbaatar is caused by the daily routes of secondary school students.
