Warning issued for strong winds in most parts of the country

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A warning for strong winds has been issued by the National Agency of Meteorology and Environment, with wind speed reaching 24 m/sec in the western region today on May 20.


Precipitation is also expected in most parts of the western region, and the north and western parts of central aimags tomorrow on May 21, in the northern region on May 22, in some parts of the country on May 23, and in some parts of the Gobi region on May 24. 


Wind speed will be 18-20 m/sec in most parts of the country on May 21, and in the central, Gobi, and eastern region on May 22, reaching 24 m/sec at times. On May 23 and 24, wind speed will reach 14-16 m/sec in the Gobi and plains.


With temperature drops in the western region from May 21, in the mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentii, in the head of Zavkhan river, near Khurenbelchir, and in the basin of Tuul and Terelj rivers, the temperature will range from -2 to -7 degrees Celsius during the night, and +4 to +9 during the day.

 

In the depression of the Great Lakes and in the southern parts of the Gobi region, the night-time temperature will be +5 to +10 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperature will be +13 to +18 degrees Celsius.

 

In other areas, temperatures are expected to be -2 to +3 during the night, and +8 to +13 during the day.
