President of Mongolia Attends Opening Ceremony of Paris-2024 Summer Olympics
PoliticsUlaanbaatar, July 27, 2024 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and First Lady Bolortsetseg Luvsandorj attended the Opening Ceremony of XXXIII Summer Olympics in Paris of the French Republic on July 26, 2024.
More than 60 Heads of State and Government, as well as leaders of international organizations, participated in the Opening Ceremony.
The French Republic is hosting the Olympic Games in Paris for the third time, and for the first time, the opening ceremony was held not in a stadium, but on the beautiful River Seine.
Approximately 10,500 athletes from 184 countries sailed in a parade of 160 boats for 6 kilometers down the Seine River.
The Summer Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024. A total of 33 Mongolian athletes are competing in nine sports: freestyle wrestling, judo, boxing, shooting, archery, swimming, cycling, athletics, and weightlifting.
In the next Paralympic Games, scheduled for August 28 to September 8, 2024, a total of 44 Mongolian para-athletes will compete in six sports: para powerlifting, para archery, para taekwondo, para-swimming, para judo, and para-athletics.
