Presidents of Mongolia and China hold official talks
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of State of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj is paying a state visit to the People’s Republic of China. An official welcoming ceremony ran November 10, as the Chinese President Mr Xi Jinping along with his spouse Peng Liyuan received Mongolia’s first family Ts.Elbegdorj and Kh.Bolormaa at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
The ceremony started with a salute and sounding of the two countries’ anthems. Then, the Presidents greeted with the Guards of honor and the receiving lot.
After this, the two dignitaries held official talks. Mr Xi expressed a gratitude to our President for paying the state visit to China. “It is the most favorable time for China-Mongolia relations. I consider that my last year’s visit to Your country was of great importance as the two neighbors declared Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, commencing a new era of bilateral relations”, he said.
Expressing a satisfaction with the two sides’ efforts to strengthen the ties and with the two peoples’ support for this objective, Mr Xi said China and Mongolia are good neighbors and friends and trustworthy partner, and that China not only attaches great significance to its relations with Mongolia but also considers consolidating ties with Mongolia as a priority of the country’s foreign policy.
In response, the leader of Mongolia Elbegdorj expressed appreciation for his counterpart’s invitation and his warm welcome. He underlined this is the first high-level visit after the two countries established Comprehensive strategic partnership.
The increased frequency of high-level interactions can be an impetus for strengthening political trust, he said. Trade and economic spheres remain the crucial part of the strategic partnership, he noted. As the two countries have great capacity to deepen the bilateral economic relations, "we are able to achieve trade turnover of USD 10 billion by the year 2020".
The sides expressed a mutual satisfaction with the active cooperation in many sectors such as economy, culture, education, sciences, technology, health and humanitarian assistance, and discussed ways of intensifying the agriculture collaboration and of exporting organic and environmentally friendly products to China through opening new agricultural parks and utilizing the eminent technologies.
At the meeting, the Mongolian side presented its permanent neutrality status, declared at the last UN General Assembly.
