NEMA representatives participate in Asian Conference on Disaster Reduction 2021

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Representatives of emergency personnel led by Chief of the National Emergency Management Agency, Major General G.Ariunbuyan participated in the Asian Conference on Disaster Reduction 2021, which was organized by the Asian Disaster Reduction Center from December 14 to 16.
Taking place under the theme, ‘Time for Change and Transformation: the Road to a Resilient Asia’, the conference was attended by over 290 representatives of 29 Asian countries online.
Chief of the National Emergency Management Agency, Major General G.Ariunbuyan participated in the High Level Round Table meeting and introduced the measures being taken by the Government of Mongolia to reduce disaster risks.
On the second and third days of the conference, sessions took place on developing technologies for disaster risk reduction that meet local needs, disaster preparedness education and awareness raising, and investing in disaster risk reduction for a resilient society.
During the conference, the Asian Disaster Reduction Center called for its member countries to actively participate in large-scale international and regional events and activities, and expressed all-round support for measures being taken against disaster risks in the region, reports the National Emergency Management Agency.
