UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Privacy Pays a Working Visit to Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, April 15, 2025 /MONTSAME/ United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Privacy Dr. Ana Brian Nougreres paid a working visit to Mongolia on April 8-14, 2025.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Munkhtushig Lkhanaajav received Dr. Ana Brian Nougreres on April 14, 2025. Expressing his gratitude to Dr. Ana Brian Nougreres for the visit to Mongolia according to the open invitation extended by the Government of Mongolia to UN special mandate holders or rapporteurs in 2004, the State Secretary noted that within the framework of its multi-pillar foreign policy objectives Mongolia supports and cooperates with the activities of the UN, its system organizations, and the special structures and mechanisms of the UN Human Rights Council. State Secretary Munkhtushig expressed gratitude to Dr. Ana Brian Nougreres for accepting the open invitation, extended by the Government of Mongolia to UN special mandate holders or rapporteurs in 2004, and visiting Mongolia. Mr. Munkhtushig noted that Mongolia, in line with its multi-pillared foreign policy, cooperates with the UN, its system organizations, and the special structures and mechanisms of the UN Human Rights Council, and supports their operations.
During her visit, Special Rapporteur Dr. Ana Brian Nougreres met with representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, including the Standing Committee on Innovation and Digital Policy and the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the State Great Khural, the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the Office of the Prosecutor General, the General Intelligence Agency, and the Ministries of Mongolia, and got acquainted with the policies and activities in the field of personal data privacy.
UN Special Rapporteur Dr. Ana Brian Nougreres presented the preliminary conclusions of her visit to the Members of the Government of Mongolia on April 14, 2025, and will present her final report to the UN Human Rights Council in March 2026.
