Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Gorkhi-Terelj National Park of Mongolia has established a cooperation contract with the U.S. Glacier National Park.

This is the second cooperation document of the Gorkhi-Terelj NP inked with the U.S. National Parks with special protection. The Gorkhi-Terelj aspires to establish sisterhood ties with the biggest in the world national parks.

Gorkhi-Terelj is connected to Ulaanbaatar by a paved road. The Terelj settlement is located in the valley of the Terelj River, some 66 km from Ulaanbaatar's downtown. The park has many rock formations which attracts rock climbers, for example, Turtle Rock and the Old Man Reading a Book. Glacier National Park is a national park located in Montana state, on the Canada–US border. It encompasses over one million acres (4,000 km2) and includes parts of two mountain ranges (sub-ranges of the Rocky Mountains), over 130 named lakes, more than 1,000 different species of plants, and hundreds of species of animals. It was registered in the UNESCO Heritage Site in 1994.
