The Mongolian Team Wins 38 Medals at the Memoriad 2024 World Mental Sports Olympics

/MONTSAME/. The
Memoriad 2024-World Mental Sports Olympics, the largest international mind
sports tournament held every four years, concluded in Dubai, the United Arab
Emirates on November 9, 2024.
In
this tournament, 180 athletes from 35 countries, including Mongolia, the United
States, Germany, South Korea, Japan, India, the United Kingdom, and
Australia–competed across 12 categories of memory and mental calculation.
Under the guidance of coaches Khatanbaatar Khandsuren, Baasandorj Battulga, Sengesamdan Ulziikhutag,
and D. Bayaraa, a team of 16 Mongolian athletes participated and achieved
outstanding success, winning a total of 38 medals and bringing home the
championship trophy.
Specifically,
the Mongolian team took home 12 gold, 13 silver, and 13 bronze medals, along
with a cash prize of MNT 50 million. They also set a new Guinness World Record.
In the memory category, Mongolian athletes claimed 35 out of the total of 36 medals,
yielding only one medal to competitors from other countries. In mental
calculation, they won three of the 12 medals.
Athletes from the Mongolian Intellectual Academy completed their 70th international tournament, earning their 1495th medal, and the team is now set to return to Mongolia from Dubai.
