Feasibility Study for National Satellite Project Completed
PoliticsUlaanbaatar, December 26, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Mongolia and the French Republic are focusing on preparing well to submit the National Satellite Project of Mongolia to the upcoming spring session of the State Great Khural of Mongolia.
In this regard, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Communications of Mongolia Baatarkhuu Tsend met with Corinne Pereira Da Silva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Mongolia, and representatives of "Thales Alenia Space" Aerospace Company of France last week. Specifically, Minister Ts. Baatarhuu noted, "The feasibility study for the National Satellite Project has been completed. The talks for the loan agreement have been finalized by the Ministry of Finance of Mongolia. After negotiating with the Consulting Company, we plan to submit the project to the spring session of the State Great Khural." The Minister also emphasized that although members of the State Great Khural have various opinions about the National Satellite Project, the Government of Mongolia is determined to move the project forward. Therefore, the Minister requested the Embassy of France in Mongolia to cooperate in providing accurate information to the members of the State Great Khural and the public.
Ambassador Corinne Pereira Da Silva expressed her gratitude for the progress of the project, despite her previous understanding that the funding for the National Satellite Project had been cut from the State Budget of Mongolia for 2025. The Ambassador highlighted that the Government of the French Republic committed to fully supporting the project and that Thales Alenia Space would organize an event to provide accurate information to the public in January 2025. Also, the Ambassador noted that the Government, the Embassy, and Thales Alenia Space of Franch would exert every effort to advance the National Satellite Project.
