The media plays an important role in raising awareness of Intangible Cultural Heritage, highlighted participants of the NorthEast Asia International Conference, which was held on October 11-12 in Ulaanbaatar. It has been organized by the National Commission of Mongolia for UNESCO in cooperation with the UNESCO Representative in Beijing and ICHCAP or  Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region/

In recent years, Northeast Asia is leading by policy delivery on protection of the  Intangible Cultural Heritage. On the other hand, it’s a home to the richest culture and traditions. This is attested by the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity which includes 93 masterpieces from Northeast Asia, of which 13 belong to the mongolians, 22-to japanese, 38—to chinese, 18—to South koreans and 2 to north koreans.

The two day conference has brought together researchers from Mongolia, South Korea, North Korea and China.
