Exhibition of works by Mongolian artists opens in Moscow

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the initiative of the Ministry of
Culture and State Museum of Oriental Art of the Russian Federation, ‘Mongolia
at the meeting point of eras’ exhibition of masterpieces of Mongolian artists
opened at the Russian State Museum of Oriental Art on March 18.
Of around 2,000 Mongolia-related exhibits kept at the
Museum with a history of 103 years, over 100 rare works of arts, graphics,
sculpture, decoration and applied arts are being displayed at the exhibition in
honor of the 100th anniversary of the People’s Revolution in Mongolia and 100th anniversary
of Mongolia-Russia diplomatic relations. Honorary Member of the Russian Academy
of Arts Tatyana Mestaka and exhibition organizer, worker of State Museum of Oriental
Art Nonna Alfonso underlined that most of the exhibits are being shown to the
public for the first time.
In his congratulatory remarks at the opening of the
exhibition, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the
Russian Federation D.Davaa thanked the staff of the State Museum of oriental
Art for preserving the best works of Mongolian artists and unveiling them on
the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
The exhibits on display range from deity sculptures including those of White and Green Tara’s to Great Patriotic War political posters made in 1940-1970, unique rugs featuring the state emblem of the People’s Republic of Mongolian, bust of Marshal Kh.Choibalsan, as well as works of Mongolian painters D.Manibadar, D.Damdinsuren, U.Yadamsuren, A.Sengetsokhio, N.Chultem, D.Amgalan, G.Odon, and S.Natsagdorj, and sculptor N.Jamba.
The exhibition is open until April 25, 2021.
