Danish Architect David Sim to Deliver Lecture on “Soft City” in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, April 8, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The “Soft City” Festival will be held at the Central Cultural Palace of Mongolia on April 19, 2025. 


The “Soft City” Festival aims at enhancing public and professional understanding of urban planning and design, and promoting international best practices and knowledge to help make cities more pleasant.


The Festival will include keynote speeches, an exhibition hall, booths from participating and partner organizations, and presentations covering 15 urban-related topics. These sessions will feature the sharing of knowledge and experience, as well as video content highlighting distinctive areas of the capital city and successful public initiatives.


Architect David Sim of Denmark, a prominent expert in urban planning and a former student of world-renowned urban planner Jan Gehl, who has contributed to the planning of numerous major cities around the world, will visit Mongolia to deliver a lecture on the topic of “Soft City.” David Sim will share his knowledge and experience with urban planning professionals, project developers, and the general public. 


The “Soft City” Festival is co-organized by the 20-Minute City National Committee and the Ministry of Construction and Urban Development of Mongolia. The Festival will be notable for the participation of researchers and businesses that support public involvement and local initiatives.
