Mongolian students win award from international photography festival

Bayan-Ulgii /MONTSAME/. Students of Dariin Complex School based in Ulgii soum, Bayan-Ulgii aimag have won the Judges’ Choice Award at the 7th International High School Students’ Photo Festival Exchange, also known as the Higashikawa Youth Festival.
This April, the results were announced for the country’s selection of photographs to be submitted to the festival. Out of the students that submitted their works from throughout the country, the series of photographs themed, ‘Family’, taken by students of Dariin Complex School - Amankel Erkhanat, Khainar Akjol, and Bakit Alirakhman, were chosen. As a result, they qualified for the final selection to be organized in Higashikawa, Japan.
Photography works by students from 18 countries, namely China, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Australia, Canada, Latvia, Singapore, Finland, Mongolia, Russia, France, Laos, Luxembourg, Columbia, and Japan, were received for the final selection.
On October 22, the photographs taken by the Mongolian students with the themes, ‘CONNECTED WORLD’ and ‘PASSIONS’, were named as the winner of the Judges’ Choice Award.
