Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The first solo
exhibition of contemporary art titled ‘Gar
+ Dor’
(in English. Hands + Down) by Ts. Anudari, a recipient of the Prince Claus Seed
Awards of the Netherlands, was held at the Misheel Expo Center on February 22-27.
This exhibition that
has touched the mental health problems of youth is the first project aiming to
influence in society.
Ts. Anudari said, “Respecting one’s personal space is considered an important social issue in many countries, for which they make concrete steps towards it. My exhibition aims to raise public awareness about the personal space. In most cases, young people do not tell their loved ones about how they had endured unwanted attention, insults and verbal abuse in public places or on the streets. They do not contact the specialists. With this exhibition, I want to contribute in changing young people’s attitudes and break this chain. We must not discriminate against each other on the basis of race, religion or ideology, or invade their personal space. Let us not judge a person by their appearance and let us not interfere in other people's lives! Every person should have personal space, regardless of age and status.”
Young artist
Ts.Anudari graduated from the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts as a designer.
During her 5-year studies, she was awarded a scholarship from the Zhejiang
Provincial Government, China. In addition, she was invited to the ‘China
Graduation Fashion Week’ in 2018.
Each year, the Prince
Claus Fund gives 100 Seed Awards to artists and cultural practitioners who are
in the first five years of their careers. In October 2021, a project designed
by a Mongolian artist was selected as one of the recipients of this prestigious
award.
The main genre of the exhibition is a spatial installation, in which the artist used natural objects, objects around us and elements of visual arts. It was the first time in Mongolia that a single artist exhibited her works on an area covering 2,100 sq2.
