President of the Australian Senate Pays a Courtesy Call on President of Mongolia

of the Senate of the Australian Parliament Susan Lines, who is on an official
visit to Mongolia paid a courtesy call on President of Mongolia Khurelsukh
Uknaa on October 17, 2024.
President Khurelsukh expressed his confidence that the
visit of the President of the Senate Chamber of the Australian Parliament Susan
Lines would give an important impulse to expand the relations and cooperation
between the two countries. The President noted his satisfaction at agreeing to
elevate the relations with Australia, a “third neighbor”, which shares common
values of democracy, to a Comprehensive Partnership.
The Head of State of Mongolia emphasized the importance of
strengthening the cooperation in education, mining, defense, and humanitarian
sectors and people-to-people relations and expanding the cooperation in mineral
resources, energy, and green transition fields.
President Khurelsukh underscored that over 6000 Mongolian young people, particularly around 60 of them under the “President’s Scholar-2100”, are studying in Australia, and more than 60 Australian entities are operating in Mongolia, which testifies expansion of the relations. The President also commended that the two countries have finalized a bilateral air transport agreement and agreed to start talks on an agreement on social security, in connection with the intensification of people’s exchange year by year.
President of the Australian Senate Susan Lines noted that the relations and cooperation between the two countries have been expanding in numerous social and economic sectors. The President of the Senate emphasized the constant legal and policy reforms of Mongolia aimed at increasing women's participation in decision-making. President of the Senate Susan Lines also expressed confidence that the Women’s Climate Resilience Project being implemented in cooperation with Australia and the Asia Foundation would contribute to the practical realization of the outcomes s of the World Women's Conference held under the auspices of the President of Mongolia on the theme "For a Green Future" this August.
