Ulaanbaatar, March 5, 2025 /MONTSAME/. In 2025, Ulaanbaatar City plans to construct new roads in 10 locations and upgrade roads in 41 locations.

In 2024, a total of 137.1 kilometers of roads were renovated across Ulaanbaatar, which is 10 times the average length of roads built over the past decade. With the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Construction,” Ulaanbaatar City is focused on projects aimed at improving air and environmental quality, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.

Notably, Ulaanbaatar plans to construct an 800-meter bridge connecting Naadamchdiin Street to the First Microdistrict, as well as new roads from Tonyukuk Road to the Playtime Tourism Complex, and roads leading to the centralized waste disposal sites at Moringiin Davaa and Tsagaan Davaa.

As part of the city’s mega projects for urban development, the feasibility study for the First Ring Road is underway. A tender will be announced in June of this year to select a contractor for the construction work, which is scheduled to begin in August. Additionally, the tender has been announced to select the contractor for the Tuul Highway Project, with construction expected to start by April 2025. This Project will include tasks such as laying asphalt concrete pavement, raising manhole covers, installing new drainage systems, and replacing guardrails.
