Japan to Provide Equipment for Monitoring Air Pollution and Sewerage Management to Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, March 6, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Takeshi Iwaya signed and exchanged notes on two grant aid projects, Grant Aid for Provision of Sewerage Management Equipment and Grant Aid for the Provision of Equipment for Monitoring Air Pollution, on March 4, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan.

 

Under these projects, Japan will grant Mongolia equipment to improve the cleaning and inspection of drainage pipes worth JPY 270 million, and air pollution measurement stations and equipment to monitor and control emissions from processed coal and coke worth JPY 275 million. The projects, funded with the Japanese Government’s grant under the Economic and Social Development Programme, will make a valuable contribution to urban air pollution control, maintenance, and modernization of sewage systems.
