Mongolian Fine Art Masterpiece ‘In the Art Studio’

this edition of the series ‘Mongolian Fine Art Masterpiece’ brought to you by
MONTSAME News Agency in cooperation with Mongolian National Art Gallery, we are
presenting the artwork, ‘In the Art Studio’ by People’s Artist of Mongolia,
Honored Art Figure Bold Dolgorjav.
Artist
Bold painted the artwork on a 110x90 cm canvas using oil paint in 1981.
In
depicting himself together with his family (wife and daughter) in the piece, he
illustrated a young couple, that is starting off their art career after
recently graduating, discussing a painting of a woman, in
a small room with all their art tools spread out. The little girl is also
curiously taking a peek at what is happening, hiding behind her mother. The
different characters, various easels, the cup with the paintbrushes, tubes of
paint - everything is conveniently placed in the artwork, which skillfully
brings together bold strokes with outline techniques in a light yellow tone of
colors.
Bold
Dolgorjav was born in Shivertiin Gol in Tarialan soum, Khuvsgul aimag in 1952.
He graduated from the Russian State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture
and Architecture named after I.E. Repin in 1977. Following his graduation, he
worked as a teacher at the School of Fine Arts and then went onto work in the
committee of the Union of Mongolian Artists.
He
became a State Laureate of Mongolia in 1994, and was awarded with the title,
People’s Artist in 2012.
