First Session of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Scheduled on July 2, 2024

Ulaanbaatar, July 1, 2024 /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa issued the Decree on the First Session of the State Great Khural to convene on July 2, 2024.
Article 17.1 of the Law on State Great Khural of Mongolia says, ”The President shall convoke the first sessions of the State Great Khural within 30 days following the election.”
According to Article 17.2 of the Law on State Great Khural of Mongolia, “When issuing a decree in accordance with Article 17.1 of this Law, the President shall consult with the parties or coalitions that won seats in the State Great Khural on the first sessions of the State Great Khural, the President of Mongolia received today the leaders of the parties and a coalition that won seats in the State Great Khural of Mongolia.
At the meeting, the President of Mongolia underscored that the 9th regular Election of the State Great Khural features that a total of 126 Members of the State Great Khural were elected for the first time by a mixed electoral system according to the amendments made to the Constitution of Mongolia. As a result, the Parliament for 2024-2028 is formed with multiparty representation and the most women members, President Khurelsukh highlighted.
The meeting was attended by Head of the Mongolian People's Party and Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai, Head of the Democratic Party Gantumur Luvsannyam Head of the National Labour Party Dorjkhand Togmid, Head of the National Alliance Nomtoibayar Nyamtaishir, and Head of the Civil Will -Green Party Batbaatar Bat.
