Eagle festival to take place in March

Bayan-Ulgii/MONTSAME/ One of
the country’s major spring/winter tourism events, Eagle Festival, will be held
in Ulaanbaatar. The ‘Nomads’ Winter-Eagle Festival 2022’ event will be hosted
at the Mongolia-Kuwait Environmental Protection Center on March 12.
The festival will feature
performances by eagle hunters, competition in a traditional game of Kazakh
people, and an art show. Also, an academic conference on Tourism and Eagle
Festival’ will be organized on March 11.
As Mongolia is one of the few remaining countries that continue to keep the 6000-year-old tradition of eagle hunting, the festival is organized twice a year, with one taking place in Ulaanbaatar in spring and the other in Bayan-Ulgii province in fall.
