/MONTSAME/. A ceremony to unveil the exhibition of new stamps featuring the “860th Anniversary of
the Birth of Chinggis Khaan” took place at Chinggis Khaan museum on December
22.
Commemorative Stamps Featuring “860th Anniversary of the Birth of Chinggis Khaan” consist of one series of six stamps. The series includes symbols with images of the Chinggis Khaan Golden Coin, the Golden Gerege, the Monument of Chinggis Khaan, the Nine White Banners, the First Postage Stamp with Image of Chinggis Khaan, and the Chinggis Khaan Museum. The other stamp has a new portrait of Chinggis Khaan.

Dr. N. Saruul, senior diplomat O. Batsaikhan gave professional advice and
helped with images to create these stamps.
For the first time in
the history of the Mongolian Post, four name stamps were circulated in 1962 for
the 800th anniversary of the birth of the Chinggis Khaan. Since then, the
Chinggis Khaan portraits and statues were featured 40 times in sixty years,
830, 840, 850, 860th anniversary of the birth of Chinggis Khaan, 800, 810 years
since enthroning Chinggis Khaan, 750, 770 (series) 780 years of the Secret
History of the Mongols, Mizukhara 1991, Taipei 1993 stamp exhibition, 790, 800,
805, 810th years of the establishment of Great Mongol Empire, Chinggis Khaan’s
heroes, Mongol Empire, History of Mankind, 20th anniversary of the
establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and America, 85th
anniversary of Mongolian stamps, 90th anniversary of State Bank, 20th
anniversary of ASEM.
