‘Green Investment Project Portfolio Identification’ launched
EconomyUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The Ministry of Economy and
Development has launched a Technical Cooperation Project with the European Bank
for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to identify a green investment
projects portfolio.
The main goal of the project is to identify a portfolio of
green investment projects, including renewable energy, to evaluate their
investment environment and policies, and to make recommendations for
improvement, as well as to attract funding from the private sector and foreign
investors.
In connection with the launch of the project, Kh. Batjargal,
State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Development, held a meeting with
representative from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and
members of the Project Advisory Team to discuss issues related to project
implementation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the main
activities to be implemented under the project, the expected results, the
organizations to cooperate in the project, the technical criteria for selecting
green projects and the areas where green development projects can be
implemented.
In determining the portfolio of green investment projects,
it was agreed to prepare a list of projects before the 'Invest Mongolia' event
in September 2022, focusing on projects that are in line with the Government of
Mongolia's New Revival Policy, attractive to investors, profitable and
feasible.
