President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa Welcomes Pope Francis

Ulaanbaatar, September 2, 2023 /MONTSAME The President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa has welcomed Head of the Holy See Pope Francis, who is paying a State Visit to Mongolia from August 31 to September 4, 2023 at the Sukhbaatar Square in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Head of the Holy See Pope Francis is paying the State Visit to Mongolia at the invitation of the President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa as the first high level visit from the Holy See to Mongolia.
Upon a report of the Commander of the State Honor Guard, the National
Anthems of both countries were performed. Members of the State Great Khural and the Government and other officials greeted Pope Francis.
Following the welcoming ceremony at the central square
Pope Francis and President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa paid tribute to the Statue of the
Great Emperor Chinggis Khaan.
Then, Pope
Francis signed the Book of Honored Guests at the State House. President
Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and Pope Francis have held a tête-à-tête meeting. President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and Pope Francis are addressing to the public, now.
