Ulaanbaatar, January 1, 2025 /MONTSAME/. On the New Year’s Eve, H.E. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of Mongolia, extended greetings to the citizens of Mongolia in a televised message. 

My dear countrymen Mongolians,  

My fellow Mongol brothers and sisters,

On this momentous occasion as the year transitions, I extend my heartfelt New Year and Holiday greetings to you all, who are joyfully and eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new year together with your families and loved ones.

New Year’s celebrations hold special meaning for humanity. They mark a time for families and communities to reflect on their achievements and endeavors, serving as a fresh beginning filled with energy, hope, and aspirations for the year ahead.

The year 2024, now drawing to a close, has been a year full of historic events not only for us Mongolians but also for the world at large.

Democratic Mongolia, nestled in the heart of Central Asia with its rich heritage of statehood, proudly commemorated the Centennial of the Proclamation of the Mongolian People’s Republic and the Adoption of the First Constitution

In this historic year, our people further consolidated democratic governance, strenghtened parliamentary traditions, and elected the first 126-member State Great Khural of Mongolia, establishing a new government. It was also a remarkable year where Mongolia led Asia in female representation in its Parliament.

This year, the economy of our country grew by 5 percent, official foreign exchange reserves reached USD 5 billion, inflation was maintained at a single-digit level, foreign trade and investments increased, and export volumes reached a historic peak, resulting in a surplus in the state budget.

Additionally, we introduced new principles to enhance fiscal discipline. For the first time in our history, we approved a budget without deficit and began implementing major strategic projects of paramount importance.

On the international arena, Mongolia’s foreign policy and relations expanded and strengthened notably. We promoted our rich history, admirable culture, and glory and vigor of the Mongols worldwide. In that respect, 2024 was a historical year that signifies the flourishing and prosperity of Mongolia's foreign relations.

Therefore, with a profound awareness of our duty to safeguard the sacred hearth of the Great Mongol Empire established by Chinggis Khaan, let us cherish and honor the values of statehood, preserve, and pass on our precious cultural heritage and history to future generations, promote harmony, uphold righteousness, observe proper conduct, and work together to advance and develop Mongolia.

Dear citizens of Mongolia,

Looking forward to the coming New Year with your neighbors, friends, families, and loved ones, I extend my warmest New Year greetings. I wish you health, strength, youthful vigor, boundless energy, and unity in the coming year.

At this precious moment of the year’s end on behalf of our nation, I offer special greetings to our courageous border guards who vigilantly protect the sovereign frontiers of our homeland, the peacekeepers dedicated to global peace, the doctors, nurses, and medical workers standing guard over the health of our people, as well as the government officers, soldiers, police, and emergency staff ensuring the safety of our nation and its citizens. On behalf of citizens of Mongolia, I express our heartfelt gratitude.

May the year 2025 bring happiness and success to every household, may the honor and spirit of our Mongolia shine brightly, and may peace prevail across the world, allowing humanity to live in harmony and happiness.
