Ulaanbaatar, February 14, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The "Mongols Nomadic Winter Festival 2025" will take place at National Garden Park from February 16 to 22, 2025, aimed at introducing the nomadic lifestyle and cultural heritage to the public, particularly children and young people, while also establishing a signature winter tourism event. Currently, preparations for the event are 50 percent complete.

The Government of Mongolia has declared the “Years to Visit Mongolia 2024-2028” Initiative and is implementing policies to reduce seasonal tourism dependence and develop year-round tourism. Within this framework, the Mongols Nomadic Winter Festival is being organized alongside a winter ice and snow festival that aims to showcase traditional intangible cultural heritage practices specific to winter and raise awareness for the conservation of the Mazaalai bear.

To ensure a comfortable experience for visitors, the festival will be organized in a station-based format. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in ice archery, ice knuckle-bone shooting, horse-drawn and dog sledding, and other winter sports activities.

Additionally, there will be an exhibition and fair featuring cultural creative industry products, as well as a traditional Mongolian food-tasting market. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth of Mongolia warmly invites everyone to visit and enjoy the Festival.
